Tongue Ulcer, Bruises - Post Dental Tx
Hello Dr, My mother is dealing with tongue ulcers for quite a few months now. Almost year back she got nearly 14 of her teeth capped by a dentist. Post that the tongue issue started. Scraping of sharp edges of cap was also done, mouth gels, glycerine etc. all tried - didn't help. It's been ~5 months now and it isn't going away. She is chronically on many medicines like BP, Diabetes, Cholesterol, etc. Could you please suggest what could be done extra over and above? I specifically looked for someone knowledgeable about tongue issues and found you (Oral Medicine), as I wasn't looking for a surgical dentist generally available. If you only are available in PitamPura I can bring her in for a check-up, else if you can have a video consultation - that is also feasible. Please let me know. Thanks, Ashish

Hello ashish, I practice in Bombay, so a video consultation is the best thing we can do. I would need to see her ulcers, ( if you can post some pictures even that should be ok) 2. What ointments /gels has she been given? 3. Have all the sharp edges been taken care of or does she still feel they're sharp? 4. Is her sugar under control?
