Too many antidepressants
I was initially prescribed prozac and after a few months of taking it, I felt better and started improving. I had improved by 40-50%. But I became fat and when  I told this to my doc, he told me to switch To zoloft starting from 25mg, till 200mg. But it only made my depression come back and ruin my digestive system. He wanted to try combination, So he added Effexor and increased till 225mg . But all I got was heart palpitations and headaches. Since my IBS was getting worse, he reduced zoloft gradually but continued at 50mg.  Later, I confessed to my doctor that Prozac  worked better than these two pills. So he added prozac too along with it upto 80mg. I took these three meds together for a few months and had serious headaches, high BP, palptns.(betacap was prescribed twice a day for heart issues). since betacap could only help partially, he added Paroxetine CR 12.5 mg to 25 mg. Now I feel I'm taking too many antidepressants. Should I change the doctor? Am I going in the right path?

I understand your concern. Depression is easily manageable with appropriate treatment. Some therapy sessions also along with medical help might be useful for you. If based at bangalore then NIMHANS is the best option. However I would also be more than happy to help you with that if you are looking for second opinion or online assistance. You can directly consult with me through Practo as needed. Online chat consultation is available.
