Hi,
Tooth pain can generally be caused due to
1.any deep cavities (decay) touching the nerve(pulp) of the tooth
Or
2.At times it can also be caused due to gum inflammation or accumulation of pus like you mentioned the bulge or swelling in the gum region
Next Steps
For emergency you can take any pain killer whichever suits you the best
to bring the swelling down you can do warm salt water gargles
also check with a dental floss if any food or debris are stuck in that region..even that may give you excruciating pain and bulge
and get the required dental treatment done
i hope this was helpful to you
regards,
Dr. Prachi Lalji
