Hello mam!
After the extraction, blood clot is formed in the tooth socket. It is the beginning of the healing process and it protects the hole in the gum from bacteria. The initial healing occurs in 1 to 2 weeks and new bone and gum tissue will grow into the gap.
Health Tips
1. Don't brush vigorously in that area
2. Do not probe that area and disturb the clot with your tongue or fingers.
Mild bleeding after extraction of tooth is common and nothing alarming.
This is 15th meaning more than 36-48 hrs has elapsed since your removal of teeth. So you can feel free to gently clean the area and even gently brush the nearby area/teeth/gargle and spit out. This will remove any debris and clots that are loose. Usually clots will not "stay" loose in the area. If by cleaning / gargling new bleeding ensues, I'd suggest you to bite on a wet and squeezed piece of guaze/cotton and pay a visit to your dentist/surgeon who removed the teeth. Usually it should not bleed anymore.
Pain should be tolerable in a day or two with medicines that you were given. If it starts worsening from day 3 and above then the possibility of painful osteitis is present and needs to be reviewed by the clinician.
Next Steps
Use warm salt water gargles / mouth wash that you were prescribed. Start moving your jaws if your mouth opening is not yet upto pre-treatment levels. Keep the area clean. Avoid biting on hard food on that site.
Health Tips
If bleeding ensues (a bright red bleeding) that does not stop even after biting on a cotton / guaze for 15-20 minutes indicates you need an urgent review by a doctor.
