Post extraction pain can last for 7-10 days. It depends in which tooth it is and.how easy/difficult.the extraction was, infection related to that tooth and various other factors. Eating solids can be started after 48 hours of extraction from the opposite side if the pain is bearable. If the pain after 3-4 days also is unbearable then you should inform the doctor or dental office from where you got extracted u might have developed dry socket. They will call you at clinic and put a.medicine in the.
Next Steps
do salt water gargling with luke warm water, take prescribed medicines by your doctor, and wait for 5-7 days to start eating solid foods.
Health Tips
consult your doctor id pain is unbearable or else it will subside on its own within 7 days.

Pain and swelling is expected after extraction that usually lasts for 5-7 days. You can have solid foods right from the day the extraction is done itself, only remember to avoid hard, sticky, spicy and hot foodstuffs. Also avoid drinking anything with straw. You can have foods that are soft in consistency like khichdi, dal rice at room temperature on the day the extraction is done and maximum the second day as and how you feel comfortable and from the third day you can continue with your normal diet. .
Next Steps
Most important instruction to keep in mind after extraction is DO NOT SPIT/ RINSE on the same day after the extraction.
