Do you mean you already got a root canal done? If no- get it done soon If yes- follow these: If the root canal is done in the past two hours then your mouth is likely to be numb. You are advised not to eat anything until the anesthesia is active. You are more likely to bite your lips or cheek or tongue unknowingly. Once the numbness is gone and you feel pain slightly....eat food. You need to eat soft bland diet.... Which is not much hot or spicy. Try eating from the other side of the mouth. Painkillers and antibiotics would have been prescribed. You can then take the medication as advised

No solid food till numbness (if anaesthesia was used) goes off, otherwise you might bite your lips or tongue accidentally. But you can have liquids, juices at room temperature. After numbness goes off you can eat but avoid that side as temporary fillings cannot take chewing forces.
