Looks like these medicines have been prescribed to him earlier. If he has taken them before without any side effects then it's ok. He should take only the painkiller first and see if it helps. Antibiotics are not always required.
Also warm salt water gargles will help.

Hey , The medicines which you mentioned should give him relief to some extent however it's advisable that he gets treated for the same at the earliest .
