The pain is patellofemoral pain and the torn meniscus is an effect rather than the cause. The cause is weak hip muscles which create abnormal loading on the inner knee and thus the meniscus tear. The hip and knee muscle weakness is due to sitting habits.
Next Steps
sitting efficiently for your professional and personal requirements such that the muscles health starts to improve.
Health Tips
do a skyline view of both knees. we can do a teleconsultation if you want.

The pain is mostly because of meniscus injury only. Since it is one year old now, there is a possibility that tear might have further increased..
Next Steps
I will suggest you to use a knee support, get a fresh MRI scan to understand the current situation of the injury.  Better option will be to go for surgery.  For now, you can take analgesic tablet, apply analgesic  ointment, take calcium and vit d supplement..
Health Tips
Avoid sitting down, avoid heavy work, avoid Indian toilet..
