Transporting skull flap craniotomy pat.
My sister had undergone Craniotomy at Hyderabad 6 months ago and the skull flap removed was stored at the hospital OT. We reside in Mumbai so we would like to have the crainoplasty done close to home.
How much is the risk of contaminating the flap by transporting for 6hrs? I would be carrying it myself. From hyderabad hospital to mumbai hospital it will take 6hrs by flight.
If its safe to transporting, what kind of equipments, what measures to be take for carrying it by myself?

It can be done safely. The hospital can help in packing the flap, maintaining its sterility.
Various flap implants too are available which can be used in case original one is difficult to get.
