Tsh - 14 pregnancy 25 days
In april she tested and had tsh-8 dr recommended so she took thyroid medicine for 2 months 50mg. One day before she found out pregnancy of 25 days, again checked on thyroid and now tsh is 14 dr has recommended 100mg medicine. Please let us know the concequences and how to improve.

Hi I can fully understand your worry. TSH hormones is required for overall growth of fetus... so in all  circumstances this medicine should be continued.  Your endocrinologist and OBG doctor would keep a close follow up for the TSH level. Just follow their advice

The increased dose of thyroxine will bring down the tsh hopefully, be in regular folow up with a endocrinologist and gynaecologist. The lower the tsh better the outcome will be, anywhere around 2.5 is best, and the newborn has to be mandatorily screened for thyroid profile and  xray knee planned to see for epiphyseal centre.

Continue with thyroid medicines On no account she should stop thyroid Check periodically TSH Check Blood sugar also The rest can be seen after ultrasound Consult gynaecologist
