TSH level 7 in 7 weeks pregnency
I have hypothyroid since 2017 along with pcod and previously l was taking thyronorm 75 as prescribed. After getting pregnant (7weeks) I tested it and result is tsh7. Now dr prescribed me to take extra 12.5 mg. My question is - is it harmful for my baby ,I have any chance of miscarriage ?

Please take an increased dose as suggested and repeat Serum TSH after 2 weeks. If TSH is still not controlled we will need to increase the Thyronorm dose further
Next Steps
Take 87.5 early morning empty stomach and repeat TSH after 2 weeks.
Health Tips
In all women thyroid Tablet requirement is increased and may even have to be doubled. After delivery thyroxine requirement will come down once again . Do not compromise on this otherwise you can have a mentally retarded cretin as baby. In pregnancy hypothyroidism is overtreated due to this reason . Hyperthyroidism on the other hand is undertreated as the baby uses up the extra thyroxine Contact me for online prescription if you have doubts
