Ulcer in my superior labial frenulum
Hello doctors Since few days I am having an Ulcer in my mouth (superior labial frenulum). I haven't applied anything thinking that like regular mouth ulcers it will go away. But since it is like 4 days and the pain in my superior labial frenulum hasn't gone away yet. I feel a little concerned. Could some one suggest how should I proceed. A year back I used to have a fit lifestyle. A balanced diet with greens and workout. But since a year I have not been maintaining it. In a year I gained 25 kgs from 75 to 100. Skipped green, too much fast and spicey food. Leading to stomach infections and acidity too during this 1 year time period. I just started a balanced diet and workout a day back and this ulcer happened 4 days back. Kindly suggest on how should I proceed. Regards Nishant

I hope by the time you read this opinion, your ulcer must have healed. Don’t worry about these ulcers buddy. Just consider these alarming signs for an oral ulcer. Warning signs for an ulcer in oral cavity: 1. Ulcer in a person who smokes and/ or uses chewing tobacco. 2. Long standing ulcer that does not heal in 6-7 days. 3. Painless ulcer. 4. Ulcer that bleeds or has a discharge. 5. Ulcer that is because of a sharp tooth or broken denture. 6. Ulcer that is on your soft palate and because of it you are unable to swallow food and drinks. There are so many scientific opinions that it’s useless to give you a therapy that will prevent further ulcers. But do your homework. These ulcers are called Minor Apthous Ulcers. Read a little bit. You will see about Omega 3 fatty acids, Vitamin B12, tetracycline mouthwashes etc. Ulcers on frenulum are a real pain. Because the mucosa there is placed about hard collagen fibres, their healing is slow and are quite painful on touching. Take care buddy.
