UMBILICAL HERNIA
Dear Doctor, I have been diagnosed with para umbilical hernia. It is small at this stage and swelling is very minimal. Only small hanging of fat is there. But after bending or some exercise, small swelling is observed, which subsides after some time. Due to family problems, I want to get operated after 2-3 months. Please clear my doubts regarding following: 1. Is there possibility of trapping of fat in the hernia, if yes, what is the solution for that? Can it cause intense pain and emergency? 2. My hernia is small, and stays as it is unless I do some exertion, can I delay the surgery by 2-3 months? 3. What precautions should I take? 4. What are the warning signs which indicate some problem that I should consult my surgeon immediately?
