Umblical hernia ~5mm
Hi doctor,
I have an umblical hernia of 5mm (as attached). I do not have any pain or any other symptoms. I have constipation most of the times and apart from that I do not have any other issues. Should I follow wait and watch approach or should I undergo surgery ? Please advise. Expecting answers from general surgeon/gastroenterology specialist. Thanks.

Umbilical hernia is a result of weakness in the muscles in or around your belly button(called umbilicus). It causes the belly button to bulge outwards and can happen at any age. Umbilical hernias are most common in women during and after pregnancy, and in people who are overweight.
Next Steps
If it is not causing any pain or inflamation or increasing in size abruptly then other functional problem like constipation can be tackled by medicines easily without any side effects.

This will need surgical intervention only. Pls don't fall for what quacks tell you. No homeopathy medicines will help. Do not waste your money. It's a defect which needs to be corrected.
Stay away from such quacks and consult a surgeon.
