My Vitamin D reading (blood test) came in low at 5. I plan to consult a doctor within 3-4 days. My friends are advising me to take a sachet of Calcirol. Can I wait till I consult a doctor or should I take Calcirol immediately?

Dear patient
Your vitamin d is very much on the deficient side. Calcirol sachet is good for vit d insufficiency or maintainance of vit. D.
For this low level of 5 you will require injections of vitamin d 6 lac units.
Once weekly for 4 weeks followed by calcirol 6,0000units once a week for 12 weeks.
