Vocal problem
Hey Dr good evening. Myself Yasmin I m taking medicine under psychiatrist.. There is a side effect of any medicine that affect my voice,its become too heavy like a men's voice..and I can't talk loud or shout to anyone because my throat hurts..and my voice got shattered.. And then I coughing... Please suggest me what should I do ???

Hello, there can be few reasons for voice change. Firstly it could be the side effect of the drug, but that needs you to check with your psychiatrist. Secondly do you use voice excessively like singing, teaching or as call centre etc if yes that can lead to thickening of vocal cord causing voice change. Also hormone disturbance can cause voice change.
