My father is a diabetic.since 1year,his voice changed.when he consulted an E.N.T.,he was told that he had a polyp on left vocal cord.is it dangerous.is surgery necessary..how much time will take for a surgery.??what happens if it was not removed?

Polyp may be of different kinds, need to rule out, any cancer.
Need to see patient to decide.
