Covishield is a vaccine made of proteins of virus. As a result it loses efficiency when a different strain comes as have happened in the second wave. In contrast covaxin is a whole virus attenuated. So it may be more efficacious in future strains . All of these are debatable as there is very low amount of data and time recieved. Either of which is good but in recent days, covaxin is being preferred.
