When I drink liquids from a glass or cup it hurts my throat, but I seem to have no problems when using a straw. It doesn't matter what the liquid is (hot or cold), and its the swallowing that hurts. This is a chronic issue, not related to being sick. I don't think the pain is related to acid reflux (which is all I can seem to find when I search
