Will I catch my partner's cold?
I ve been anxious recently because I ve invited my partner over tomorrow and they are still suffering from a pretty nasty cold. My question is if it s likely my immune system has already been exposed to it, and whether another exposure would pose any risks.  I was together with my partner this past Friday for the whole day while they had a sore throat and some congestion, and it had been their first day of symptoms. We were quite close the whole day, we had even been kissing (I know, bad decision on my part). Luckily I m not feeling any symptoms at the moment (it is now Monday), but my partner has developed a cough, some congestion, and a bit of dizziness in addition to the sore throat.  We both want to see each other tomorrow, but I m wondering what my chances will be of getting sick having already been exposed to the illness for the whole day on Friday. Would my immune system have already fought off the infection and gained a bit of immunity? What is the best course of action?
