Having a thrush does not mean you have to get rid of it in totality. In pregnancy the person's immunity is a bit lowered to help the baby grow. This may cause some opportunistic fungi to colonise the vagina. Again white discharge from vagina is increased in pregnancy due to excess blood flow in the vagina and uterus. This excess fluid keeping the area moist can also attract fungi. You must get treated for thrush if it causes itching and burning while passing urine.
Next Steps
Meet your Gynecologist with whom you are getting your pregnancy check ups, get examined and if needed the doctor will offer treatments. These range from local pessary insertion, to creams, gels and at times even oral therapy may be given. In olden times vaginal painting with some antiseptic also used to be done by the gynecologist.
Health Tips
Recurrent fungal infection could also be a sign of diabetes. During pregnancy some ladies are prone to have sugar imbalance and they may have a diabetes only during pregnancy, called Gestational diabetes. Do get evaluated for this
