Review for Dr. Madhuri Laha
Hospital: Motherhood (Pune, Kharadi).
My Story:
My wife and I both are not from Pune (or even Maharashtra). During the early pregnancy we were consulting on of the big Dr. in Deccan for our second child. However as the nationwide lock down started, we were looking for any good Dr. nearby (Kharadi or Magarpatta City). One of our neighbor gave her reference that, they were consulting to Dr. Madhuri Laha, and came to know that she was waiting almost for 12 hrs. in April month lockdown and successfully deliver baby. It was amaze to hear that any dr. who is waiting for 12 hrs. for a normal delivery.
We went to Motherhood hospital with appointment first time in May month. The junior Dr. took all past histories and reports. First meeting with Dr is for maximum 8-10 mins. There was hardly much discussion, she talked on normal diet mostly and gave only two medicine and asked to have daily walks. We felt like, is it really good as there was not much interaction with her. But after consulting for 6-7 months and finally we understand she was just perfect. If there is no such complication, there is nothing to discuss much, it absolutely fine.
During 34th week:
My wife felt the baby movement was less in the morning. As Dr. Madhuri suggested if we felt anything unusual that time (on just previous consulting day) come and get admitted directly. As suggested we don’t call Motherhood, just reached in the hospital. Dr. arrived and the sonography found that, the baby movement is really less. She suggested that there are two option, if it’s really require we may have to go for pre mature delivery, the other is to give saline and medicine which will be beneficial for baby’s movement increment. She clearly mentioned that we have to take call for less risk procedure (giving saline), and it actually work. After 5 hrs. we were back at home with all good. The baby movement was back as normal.
On 37Week + :
On early morning my daughter mentioned that, her water broke, and we rushed to Hospital. Wife get admitted immediately. Dr. Madhuri came and checked her and found she was having labor pain(less though). Note that, our Kid has “Double loop” on neck (which was found on earlier sonography). Despite water broke and double loop she was confident to go with normal delivery. Around 2:30 pm she take another look to my wife and said labor pain is still less and it will take few more hrs. to get the actual delivery. She also mentioned that she feel that the delivery may took around 6-7 pm.
Around 5:30 pm wife started having the intense pain. Junior dr. gave call to Madhuri maa’m and explained the same and she rushed to hospital in 10-15 mins. My wife delivered our second kid around 6:40 pm successfully. Her junior Dr. and rest of the team were too supportive as well
I was amazed to see her medical experience with the assumptions (timing), and her capability with the complexity (double loop and water broken) but still went for normal delivery. Even our Covid test result was awaiting (as we came as emergency and sample taken at hospital in the morning), but she never questioned about it. However next day we found all our Covid test came (-) ve.
Review for Dr. Madhuri Laha:
As a normal people we always want to consult “Pehchan ki” (Known) Gynecologist for delivery. I am not sure if “pehchan ki dr.” term can be applicable to Dr. Madhuri Laha or not but her diagnosis, treatment and medical choices according to situation is just like your own “pehchan ki dr.” . She always believed her own capabilities and prefer for natural delivery which is amazing. In my personal case with water broken and double loop complexity, I believe she may the rarest dr. who still chose to go for successful normal delivery.
As said, being not local to Pune or Maharashtra, we have anxiety that how we can find a dr who can go for normal delivery. And Dr. Madhuri was exactly the same kind of Dr who is well capable and still believe in normal delivery can be possible even with complex situation and actually perform it with highest proficiency.
I definitely recommend other fellow patient who believe normal delivery can still possible in current timing.

This is my heartfelt appreciation for Dr. Madhuri Laha Mam. My family got completed because of her. First my son in September 2017 and now the daughter in June 2023. Both the kids are delivered under her observation, via normal delivery. Both the kids are healthy, happy and strong. My journey with her started from 2017 till 2023. I am writing this review after 4 monts of delivery of my second baby(sorry for being too lazy).
Review-
Most of my consultations were of 5 - 7 minutes only, but she diligently tracks all the important parameters within this duration. And if she found any anomaly in the reports, she ensured to understand the reason for that without caring about time and give treatment accordingly. People might feel that she is less interactive and not paying attention if everything is going smoothly, but I didn't find anything wrong in it. I find that behaviour to be extremely professional, since there is no need to talk much if there are no problems.
This was my second delivery under her observation, and I wanted this one to be normal too like previous one. So without any doubts, I went directly to Madhuri mam, even though the hospital where she is practicing currently is far away from my home. Mam always encourages for normal delivery and secondly I feel friendly and caring warmth in her. She gives an objective analysis with pros and cons of both normal and c-section, and motivates to try for normal only. She is very confident herself that the delivery goes normal, and it gives a lot of confidence to the patient also.
Issues-
In the 28th week sonography, baby's AC was very low (8 percentile), which means baby's growth was slow. Many people told me that if AC is low, then normal delivery is not possible in most cases. The deliver has to be done pre-maturely in that case. But Madhuri mam immediately started treatment with protein and multi-vitamin tablets. She also suggested me to have high protein diet with Paneer, Soyabean as I am pure vegetarian. Due to this, by the 34th week sonography, AC came to normal range.
In the 34th week, my BP touched 130/85, which is considered normal by most doctors. But in my case, my usual BP was 100/70. She caught this very promptly by comparing the current BP with previous reports. Due to her early detection and treatment, my BP came back to normal due to which there were no complications during the delivery.
In the 37th week, I got admitted to the hospital as I had started feeling some pain. But those were fake labour pains. Madhuri mam waited for one day to see if natural pain starts, but gave me discharge after that. Mostly other doctors don't wait and perform c-section delivery in such cases. But she was so confident that my delivery will be normal only, and gave me confidence that I will get natural labour pain within a week since I had already got fake labour pain. Just after 3 days of that, my little angel was delivered normally on 24th June 2023. My family got completed with this baby girl.
In closing, I would just like to say that I cannot thank Madhuri mam enough for giving me the two most important parts of my life. I give a lots of blessings and love to mam, and will always remember her throughout my life. I can meet mam anytime as my baby's paediatrician is in the same hospital (only if mam has time😊). I will definitely refer any of my relatives or friends to her if they are seeking guidance.

We would like to share our experience with Dr Madhuri.
The review is written in 3 parts :- First one, when we started our treatment with Dr. Madhuri. Second, actual pregnancy, and third one is about post pregnancy.
We came to know about pregnancy in the month of February 2022. We were at our home town - Nashik at that time.
We consulted our family gynecologist and treated till the end of 3rd month.
Post that shifted to Pune and started with one of the gynecologist till the end of 7th month.
At this point we came to know that we are having IUGR baby.
A baby who is unable to receive enough amount of supplies from it's mother.
The doctor did not seems enough pro-active to us in order to react to the situation. And we made the best decision, I would say to shift the treatment under Dr. Madhuri.
She immediately made us understand what is the situation and how this can be handled. She took very much needed timely actions.
Also she is very good when it comes to making the things clear yet providing confidence to the patient. Which is very important during the pregnancy.
No doubt we were tensed but Dr. Madhuri helped us to overcome the situation at the same time, be alert about what's happening and what to expect next.
We successfully made it to 37th week of pregnancy. Meanwhile we were asked to undergo USG (Sonography) timely, compared to normal cases.
Even at those times, Dr. Madhuri used to talk to radiologist in order to get into exact situation, rather that relying on reports only.
She even asked us to consult to different radiologist when it was nearing to 37 week, just to make sure that there is no human error involved and everything is understood well in timely manner.
Since IUGR babies need much care than those of others.
At 37th week, Dr. Madhuri conveyed us that baby is grown up enough and it's safe to take baby out now, based on reports. Else there can be difficulties later on.
We trusted and relies on Dr. Madhuri and got admitted into hospital and our baby was out within some hours.
With the blessings of our well wishers and Dr. Madhuri's expertise, our baby is healthy and doing well.
We even got a call from Dr. Madhuri, who provided us some important instructions, post discharge from hospital.
Even after the delivery Dr. Madhuri took active follow-up in order to have a look at mothers health and she did noticed slight raise in Blood Pressure and suggested the further treatment.
So in all I would say, Dr. Madhuri was there for us from the point we started our treatment under her. And I would say everything happened till the point is as good as "Picture Perfect"
Huge thanks to Dr. Madhuri and Motherhood Team.

We would like to share our story of ectopic pregnancy, which is completely natural and should be acceptable by the society and couples should be aware of.
We had started the planning for baby and I was expecting my periods on 30th Nov, as my period cycle is regular, but the cycle didn't happen so with excitement on 8th Dec, 2021, we did a pregnancy test at home with kit, which showed up not very faint not very prominent lines, immediately we decided to visit doctor as we couldn't understand. So on 9th dec we visited Dr.Madhuri Laha, Motherhood, we showed her our pregnancy kit test basis on which she suggest for sonography to detect the position incase of pregnancy and along with beta HCG blood test in gap duration of 48 hours.
We sincerely followed her, immediately sonography didn't showed up anything nor the position nor the confirmation of pregnancy so we waited for the beta HCG report test result which was done on 10th dec, the value was 2036 on the first report and the very next day I spotted some blood drops.
Since it was few blood drops we didn't acted immediately (in such case we needed to go and visit doctor immediately but we did not and waited for another beta HCG report which was scheduled next day)
The next beta HCG report post a gap of 48 hours was 3072 dated 12th dec.
On 13th dec we visited doctor along with our beta HCG report, at first doctor was very angry why did not we acted when we spotted the blood drops which is unusual thing, later she explained that this ignorance could be life threating to you, this could be ectopic pregnancy (Tubal Pregnancy) or if it is normal pregnancy its well and good. So she immediately asked to go for sonography as in the first sonography the position was not detected.
We immediately went for sonography where the doc confirmed it was Tubal Pregnancy of 5 weeks and 2 days on the left tube. She immediately called up Dr. Madhuri Laha informed her and she asked for immediate hospitalization as this is considered as medical emergency. We got hospitalized on 13th dec night.
It is considered as medical emergency because the baby cannot grow in the tube and if it does not grow there are chances of it getting ruptured inside which can cause life threating to mother.
The next day post our hospitalization as I was very stable without any pain, doctor suggested for one more beta HCG report post which she would take decision.
The result was 4500 and looking my condition which was without any pain doc suggested for to go through medical treatment and staying in hospital for next 6 days so that under any emergency I could be attended immediately.
So for next 6 days we waited patiently and underwent the medical treatment (included of injections and tablets).
Post 6 days which was 20th dec, I had to undergo the beta HCG report and sonography to know the exact condition.
Result of beta HCG was 8400 which was too high. Later the sonography report showed that the baby had grown up to one more week and had developed heart beat as well, still in the tube. Now the only option was to perform the surgery and remove the tube and the baby.
So on 20th dec itself post the reports I was kept under emergency watch and on 21st dec Dr.Madhuri Laha and her team performed the surgery and removed the tube.
The surgery was successful and I was out of danger.
She is a great doctor and Motherhood hospital is the best hospital. We had very good experience with the staff and the nurses and the doctors.
Early diagnosis and Early act could have saved all these. Be careful do not let go off a single day incase of your delayed periods or any unusual thing happening in your body.
