Visited Dr. Girija K J (Obstetrician)
I had the misfortune of getting a consultation from this lady today, Dr. Girija K J.
Here are the reasons why it was my misfortune:
1. I used to consult with the HOD, who has been on my case for a year. She had recommended a course of Femilon for 3 months to bring the menorrhagia I was suffering from under control. This was after a course of Dienogest (which is a progestin meaning a semisynthetic version of the hormone progesterone) that failed for me. She recommended that I do a blood test and if the results are normal, I could continue a course of Femilon tablets for 3 more months. In order to get a written prescription, when I visited the hospital, there was Dr. Girija K J instead who was visiting. Since I had the written advisory from the HOD, I showed her the advisory. And then began a rampant display of her arrogance.
2. She said, because you are 43, we will not renew Femilon. It should not be given for more than 6 months. I said, Ma’am, I have taken it for 3 months, may I continue for 3 more months before I stop it because this is the only medication that has worked for me. She said point blank, no. We will insert an IUD. I did not wish to have an IUD inserted, so I asked her what medication would be given by IUD. She said progesterone. I asked her Ma’am are there progesterone pills available, and if yes, can I be given that instead of an IUD. To this, her answer was, oh, you’re not married, then we will give you the IUD under anesthesia. I asked again if I could please be given oral medication and she said she will not provide it. In effect, she gave me only one option: IUD. Then I asked her what Dienogest is. * ***** *** ************ ** ** ** * ************ ***** *** **** *** ** ** ********* ****** * *** ********* *** *** ****** ** ***** ** ** *** ** **** **** ***** **** **** ***** ********* *** *** *** ******* ****** ** **** ** **** ***** *************3. She also refused to order my blood test. She said in a conceited manner, “Why do you want the blood test?” I said, the HOD had asked me to get one. To this her answer was, “That was for followup medication. Since we are not renewing it, you do not need to do a blood test.”********* **** ***** ***** ****** ******** ****** *** ****** * ****** ** ****** ******* ****** ** *** *** ** **** **** ***** ** * ***** ***** ********* ********** ***** **** ** ***** *** *** ********* ** ******** ** ***** *** *** * ****** ********* *** ***** ** ** *********** ***** ***** **** ********** ******* **** ****** **** *** **** ** * ****** ********* **** *** **** ********* * ***** ***** **** **** **** **** ***** *********** ** ** ********** **** ********** ** ****** ********** ***** ** *** ******* ** ********** *** **** ***** *** ******* ****** ******** **** ***** ********** *** **** ** *** ***** **** *** ****** **** *** ****** ****** ***** ***** *** *** ***** **** *** *** ***** ***** ****** *** ****** *** ***** **** *** ******* * ***** **** ********** ********* ****** **** * ****** ******** ******* *** **** ** **** ** **** *** ******* **** * *** ******** ******* ****** *** ** *** ******* ** **** *** ** ***** ******** *** *** ****
5. When I said I do not want surgery and prefer holistic healing, she outright announced, “write this. The patient doesn’t want surgery, doesn’t want to continue tablets, doesn’t want IUD. She wants holistic healing.” This was said in an insulting tone and I came out of this consultation feeling violated for exercising the simple right of trying to have a say in what I want to do with my body.
Now I wonder if she wanted to drive me as a paying client to her personal clinic, instead of letting me continue my treatment under the care of the HOD of this hospital.
My only wish is that that no one else suffers insulting remarks ** *** ***** ********* **** **** ***** *** **** **** *** *** ** **** * ************ ****** *** * ************* *******
