Dr. Agarwal's Eye Hospital was established in 1957 by the late Dr. J. Agarwal, a Padma Bhushan awardee, and his wife, Dr. T. Agarwal, in Chennai, India. What began as an eye clinic and their residence evolved into a state-of-the-art eye hospital by 1976. The founders' innovative vision led to the creation of the first Agarwal Eye Hospital, designed in the shape of a human eye, which quickly became a notable landmark in the city.
