Let me tell you the story of my struggle with diabetes, which might be helpful to some of you.
In 1983, when I was 27, I was a little overweight, and a doctor, seeing my blood sugar level, said that I would become a diabetic. My mother was taking meds for diabetes, and it was believed that this illness is inherited from parents. About ten years later, a doctor prescribed a diabetes medicine, and for the past 30 years, I have been on various medications for diabetes. It became my primary struggle, for it required great care and effort to keep my sugar level within limits. Recently I have had numbness and pain in my feet-- signs of diabetic neuropathy.
For a few years I have been reading news of reversing diabetes, and I have been exploring that possibility. A month ago
I happened to see an ad in the facebook that claims to cure diabetes, and accordingly I visited Dr. Jolly Thomson's Life Care clinic in Thevara, Ernakulam.
The doctor told me that I can recover from diabetes fully if I stop my diabetes medications and follow a diet-exercise plan for three months, which she calls a cellular activation protocol. I readily agreed and started. I have to do aerobic exercises 3-4 times a day in lying positions, primarily to reduce fat in the belly area. I have to have meal only once a day, and it should consist of fish, eggs, chicken, meat, and green vegetables only, and not any fruits, milk, nuts, or grains. She also asked me to have a nutritional drink with all necessary vitamins and minerals three times a day.
My blood test showed an elevated pancreatic lipase, which indicated an inflammation of the pancreas, which is caused by overwork caused by diabetes medicines. Avoiding diabetes medicines as well as carbohydrates give adequate rest to the pancreas, which can restore its health. I need to include a lot of omega 3 foods in my diet to hasten the restoration of health.
I have been on this plan for one month now. My weight has lowered from 69 to 65 kg. Fasting glucose level stays between 125 -170 mg/dl. I don't feel fatigue or numbness in feet any more. I am planning to continue this for two more months, so that I can lose more fat from my body, and have glucose level in control.
Well, reading this far, I am sure you feel excited, and want to do this if you are also taking diabetes medicines. But I must warn you that you need to have enough money before you go to this doctor. Let me tell you how much you need.
I saw the doctor paying a nominal fee of Rs 400 at the front desk. After seeing the doctor, her assistants asked me to pay Rs. 30,000. I paid it thinking that it might be a package, with all costs included. But I was wrong. I was asked to pay another 10,000 for lab tests, which also I paid. Once the blood was drawn, an assistant showed me a video on how to do exercises, and she also told me how I may modify my eating habit. After this I was asked to buy from them nutrition drink for a month paying Rs. 18,000. I was given 30 small packets of nutritional drink powder-- each packet weighs 135 grams and cost Rs. 500.
Recently when I looked at the charges, I was wondering what was the initial 30000 for. All they did was -- giving me some information. I called and asked the doctor about it. She said that it is her professional charges. *** ***** * *** ** ***** ** *** *** ******** *** **** *** *** *************** She also challenged me if I can get a cure for diabetes even if I pay Rs. one crore in the best hospital in the world. What she meant was that the amount was her moderate price for giving me a cure. She admitted that I didn't need much support from her; all I needed was information. But she justified the fee claiming that it was fixed with the people who need daily support in mind.
At the end of one month, they are encouraging me to advance to their phase 2, for which they need another 30000, and all they give in return is some information. There might be more costly lab tests. After phase 2, there is a phase 3 too.
