My baby is one month old and has frequent gas problem. At the birth Gynaecologist suggested Colicaid drops when having gas. We gave it but seems that he still has gas and makes his face red when trying to yawn or release gas. We also try to make him burp after breastfeeding.
Currently vitamin d3 drops are being given to him. Once in a day we give formula milk also.
Is colic the only problem? Is yes then how much time it may take to be ok? Or anything else should be done?

Breast milk has two part fore milk and hind milk. For fore milk has more of water and carbohydrate , &hind milk has fat , so feed till breast empty whole from that side then offer other side. B/c both essential for baby. And carbohydrate will dilute and gas formation will be less. Ofcourse burping is must.

Proper burping should be done after each feed followed by keeping the baby in left lateral position. During breastfeeding proper attachment of nipple areola complex and mouth of baby is important. During bottle feeding, minimise air feeding by ensuring proper angulation of bottle during feeds. Medicines are not generally required. Proper burping will reduce the problems mentioned.
