My child is refusing to take mother's milk directly, I have to pump out milk and feed him in bottles. Yesterday when I tried to feed him only directly, the problem I faced was that he didn't pee more than 3 times yesterday and didn't poop as well. Further he seemed to be perpetually asleep and could not even rise for feeding. Yesterday he slept for 4-6 hour stretches, without feeding in between. In this case can I feed him Nan pro, which incidentally he seems to love. I am compelled to think about this as my child seems to doze off as soon as he takes my nipple in his mouth. Please advice. Note. His bilirubin count during a recent blood test 4 days back was 10.48.

Bilirubin level is not of significance.
Are your nipples inverted, get your gynaecologist to check.
Feed the baby on demand only, let him sleep,do NOT wake him up for a feed.
Passing stool daily is not mandatory, urine,if passed 4-5 times in 24 hours is sufficient.
As long as he is active, don't worry, babies can sleep up to 18 hrs(in instalments,of course!!).
DO NOT START TOP FEED.
