Giving medicine to kid is most often a challenge for the parents. Some children like a particular flavour. Ask your doctor if they can suggest substitute medicine. Appetite as such decrease during illness so don't forcefully feed your child. Encourage your child to have good amount of water and liquid food. If child is not even having water and urine output is only once in 12hrs then better get the child hospitalized.

It's very common to have these sort of problems with kids...you just have to councell them. Don't just force the medicine inside their mouth. First councell them about the need of medicine and reward them with something after they have it. And don't force them to finish their meal completely. Appetite gets reduced during illness.
