ACL injury
I had a ACL reconstruction surgery 3 years ago. Recently while exercising it broke again. Should i go for an ACL reconstruction surgery again? Is there any chance that i may hurt my other ligaments in future?

Dear friend it is rare to have acl re tear .but is not impossible. Any pivoting or twisting injury can lead to rotatory knee strain and resultant knee ligament tear.if somebody has got retear then you should not wait for further damage to menisci and cartilage inside Knee. You can become alright with resurgery but your rehabilitation should be prolonged.wish you recovery soon. Regards dr pankaj agrawal Shoulder and knee reconstruction surgeon ahmedabad

ACL ligament provides stability to the knee joint....weather you opt for surgery or No...you have to strengthn your knee flexor and extesor muscles....you should straight away consult an Arthroscopic orthopaedic surgeon (if the one who previously operated on you is there then thats best) For the time being wear the knee brace (the onc which  u might have) and stop putting undue load/weight on the affected knee. Regards & Take care.

Acl function is important for stability of knee joint so if you do not address instability by quadriceps muscle strengthening then yes there is chance you may injure your knee further. So strengthen your quads muscle rigoursily so that it can reduce instability.
