I can understand your concern. Tretiva contains isotretinoin. And yes it has side effects like dryness of skin and mucosa, especially lips. But if you want to reduce your acne on a long term basis, you need to continue isotretinoin. Rarely isotretinoin can affect cholesterol and liver. Hence regular follow up with investigations is necessary. Your dermatologist is treating you correctly. Follow up with him regularly. For drying of skin and lips you can use emollients and lip balms

Most probably you are suffering from the persistent adult acne. Acne in the chin is always because of the harmonal changes. Don't take minoz and tretiva at the same time..dear not combine these two drugs. U can continue tretiva alone. It's a good medicine. Side effects are manageable. You can use moisturiser for dryness. If still persistent you reduce the dose of tretiva. Sometimes we may need to add anti harmonal tablets along with the tretiva. You may also discuss regarding the chemical peels with your dermatologist.
