Decrease in serum albumin may be due to chronic liver disorder like cirrhosis....as liver synthesizes albumin.... Other condition which may produce decrease serum albumin is loss of protein in urine which occur in various types of glomerulonephritis....apart from that protein losing gastroenteropathy also present as decreased albumin..
Next Steps
investigation: urinalysis,CBC,24 hour urinary protein excretion, kidney function test...complete liver function test....lipid profile..USG abdomen
Health Tips
treatment depend on diagnosis...first consult physian then depending on diagnosis gastro or nephro....
