Alternative to RCT
Hello doctor,
Yesterday my right top teeth, second from inside, chipped while eating. A 2-3 mm piece broke. My dentist suggested rct citing decay. What's your opinion? Are there any alternatives? Attaching X-ray...

Would recommend to visit any Endodontist nearby who might after assessing the clinical condition and removal of decay from ur tooth suggest a procedure called direct pulp capping. If there is absolute pain in ur tooth then he/she might suggest for Rct followed by crown. But again the clinician can judge once the decay part of ur tooth has been removed completely.

RCT is mandatory after that crown on it must . No filling can b done it.

No there is no other alternative. The cavity is very deep reaching up to the pulp of the tooth. No filling will help instead it will increase your pain. Medication will give you temporary relief . So better for the permanent treatment and relief go for RCT followed by crown.

dont delay in treatment otherwise it will end up in swelling or more decay of your teeth due which will ultimately lead to remove your teeth.

You have to go for RCT for this condition
Tooth Health seems ok by x Ray, so we can preserve this for longer time by placing good crown done by a good dentist.
Alternative options are tooth extraction followed by prosthesis like removal/bridge /dental implants
But you should take chance with RCT by a expert dentist having good skills and technology.
No treatment is not a good choice

Sir, no other alternative.. Go for root canal treatment followed by crown to save the tooth.

On seeing the X-ray the decay seems to be deep . Temporary filling also might give pain so you should go ahead with only root canal treatment to save your teeth or else it has to be removed . Treat Asap or else you will end up with swelling . Take tablet Ketoral DT for pain relief .
