Dear Concern about your 6-year-old's gum boil is understandable. Augmentin (antibiotics) for 5 days: 1. Effective against bacterial infections. 2. Should reduce boil size and discomfort. Root canal connection: 1. Possible re-infection or abscess. 2. Monitor boil location and tooth sensitivity. Follow-up: 1. Complete antibiotic course. 2. Schedule follow-up with dentist after 5 days. Watch for: 1. Boil growth or increased pain. 2. Fever, swelling, or discharge. 3. Difficulty swallowing or breathing. Additional advice: 1. Maintain good oral hygiene. 2. Soft food diet temporarily. 3. Gentle saltwater rinses. Consider consulting a pediatric dentist for: 1. Assessment of root canal tooth. 2. Boil evaluation. Reassuring facts: 1. Boils are common in children. 2. Antibiotics effective in resolving infection. Keep a close eye on your child's symptoms. Best regards, Dr. Pratikshit Anand Additional guidance: - Document boil progression. - Ask your dentist about potential complications. Consult your pediatric dentist or physician for personalized advice.

According to the picture there is infection. Is there any decayed tooth adjacent to the root canal treated tooth? If it’s not there you need to take an xray to know whether the infection is from a decayed or from the old root canal treated tooth.
Next Steps
Consult a dentist (pedodontist)
Health Tips
take the medication as per your doctor’s advice
