Ear pain for 4 year kid

Is there any safe ear drops for emergency purpose for my 4 year old son? Or is it necessary to consult doctor for simple ear pain also

warm garlic oil is safe for and emergency dear in night time otherwise it is always wise to take ent sp. opinion everytime
