Hello sir/mam My father is not able to properly from last one year, he finds things blurry. After consultation doctor said that there is a tension in his eyes and because of which he is not able to see properly. Doctor has advised some eye drops to reduce the eye tension and said that this is the only way to handle this and cant be cured completely. May i know is there any other way to correct the eye sight. Can we go for any surgery to cure this. Thanks in advance

Hello Ur father has glaucoma... First line of treatment is medical management If tension is not controlled with medicines then only we opt for surgery. A work of caution for you also...glaucoma runs in families so u also get ur proper eye check up every year to screen for glaucoma

Considering his age and condition (glaucoma) medical line is the treatment .apart from optic nerve damage due to glaucoma there may be cataract retinal problem causing decreased vision all due to old age. Consult a retina specialist once also.continue drops as advised get eye pressure checked every 3 monthly...thanx

Hello, that could be glucoma , increased intraocular pressure in the eye , for glucoma he has to take medications , surgery is done for congenital glucoma ,not for this one , he has to take medicines regularly because increased intraocular pressure may damage the optic nerve which could lead to blindness. Get his iop checked frequenctly.
