Autoimmune Encephilitis
My father was recently admitted to hospital after weakness /vomiting (low sodium). He was also diagnosed with Autoimmune Encephilitis based on inputs like .. (a) EEG = Abnormal awake EEG record s/o generalised seisure disorder. Pls r/o nonconvulsive status epilepticus (b) Very high levels of Anti TPO .... VGKC negative. (c) Brain MRI also indicated cerebellar atrophy, subtle T2 Flairs, lacunar infarcts, punctate calcification, prominent VR spaces, cystic gliotic areas, etc. Medications given: Inj Solumedrol, Uritin, Glycomet, Ecosprin, Cilacar, Rekool D, Liofen, Deplatte, Clonotril, Medrol, Frisium, Levipril, Tricaine, Inj Human Actrapid. Symptoms showed: general weakness, irrelevant talking, memory loss, difficulty in doing routine works, etc. He was hospitalised for about 7 days. Even after 15 days of start of medications /diagnosis, there is no big recovery.

Treatment given so far is correct. Probably he requires further symptomatic measures. Or a course of IVIG.
