It is normal for newborn babies to sleep more.  Make sure baby is taking breastfeed every 2- 3 hourly ,passing urine 6-8 times a day, gaining weight adequately, baby is active during wake hours.

Newborn babies sleep for more than 20 hours in a day. What you need to watch for is whether baby is feeding properly and whether passing urine adequately. Babies who are this young should have atleast one Pediatrician visit in the first week of life where what is normal and what is a red flag is explained by us. Request you to visit a pediatrician and clarify all your doubts. At the same time doctor can have a look at the baby and ensure all is good. Remember younger your child, more is the precaution you should take and visit a pediatrician at the slightest of doubt for any problems in the first month of life
