Bilatteral total knee replacement
Since five years ,unbearable knee joint pains at both legs.Last year they suggested for B/L Total knee replacement.Nit taking any pain killers since they not prescribed anything.Now last week ,again consulted senior ortho and he also suggested for surgery and the same fixed on 10th of this month.Now my question is whether compulsory/ advisable for such surgery during this corona period.Any prob will arise after post operative surgery.During surgery as inpatient they assured that they will take care of ,nothing will happen.After surgery any prob will come?Kindly explain pl

Needs clinical examination. May benefit from exercises and knee injection. May not need surgery.

Currently if your pain is bearable, it’s better to avoid surgery at this point of COVID situation time . It’s better to postpone the surgery and get it done once the COVID settles.

Science has advanced alot and now bilateral knee replacement are done on regular basis. Also every surgical procedure has its own risk factors, which are quite minimal and must have been explained by your surgeon. If patient is surgically fit, they can go for bilateral knee replacement. Regarding corona time, if you pain is unbearable then you have to get it done, else you can choose time of your liking.
