Black eye.
My mother had a fall and after two days we noticed small black clot around her left eye. We were prescribed Eyedrops Milflox and Eye ointment Ocupol. Applied Ocupol on the clot and in the swelling around the eye on the skin. The clot the next day looks like a black eye. 1. Should the ointment be applied inside the eye or outside on the clot and swelling? 2. Has applying on skin spread and made it a black eye?

Black eye occurs when there is a bleeding from the injury. There are spaces around the eye from where the blood tracks under the skin and turns black due to breakdown of blood pigment called haemoglobin. Black eye will improve gradually and may spread initially. Just get an X Ray study to rule out minor fracture of an orbital bone. Vitamin C 1500 mg once a day for a month will help. No ointment on the skin is required. Be patient as the absorption is slow in old age.

Black eye is due to traumatic haemorrahage. If there is no other injury , it will subside by it self.No ointment is necessary to keep it on the skin.lt will not spread ,due to ointment applied. Pl give her Tab.chymorol forte, 1tab, morning, and 1tab night after food for 7days.
