Blood in sputum is observed intermittently from past 3-4 days. Not always, but twice or thrice in a day especially after I wake up from sleep. Blood quantity is very minimal...Like a very small tissue or a drop. Is this of major concern? Whom should I interact to get this checked? I have quit smoking some 8 months back but never had any issue while I used to smoke.

If u have a respiratory infection and bring out sputum with lot of effort this can happen. Anyways its better to consult a physician after taking a chest xray
