Hello,
I have had buck teeth since childhood. I have already tried braces to align them when I was 19 years old. I wore braces for a year after which I wore retainer for another year. But after a year my two front teeth readjusted to their previous misaligned position.
I have consulted two dentists who have different opinions. One says I should opt for cosmetic filling of gap as my face structure is broad and fine and trying to align the teeth might make the face look weird. The second one also had same comments about my face but suggested braces instead for a year and retainer for two more years after that.
I am very confused as this is a pretty big investment for me as I just started working. Also I don't know which option to go for.
I need to hear it from a person of experience and expertise. Hence, reaching out through this platform.
Hope you will help me out
Thanks in advance!

hi
There is every chance of slight relapse (teeth readjusting to previous position) after orthodontic treatment. Therefore retainers should be worn for atleast 2 years specially because you underwent treatment during active growth period (18-21 years).
Since you already underwent braces treatment, you can consider cosmetic treatment too.It would be better if we can see your x rays and photographs to give treatment plan suited for you.You can practo consult us for the same.
X-rays and clinical examination are required to give you proper advice. However in general braces may be indicated as cosmetic treatments will be more invasive and may affect the teeth in the long run
