Buccal tube
Hello, Usually, Buccal tubes are put in pair on both sides of teeth. However, I have only one on each side as the other pair was getting off owing to chewing. But my orthodontist didn't replace it. Now I have buccal tube one on each side instead of two. Is that ok?

Buccal tubes are used on the first and second molars depending on anchorage requirements and as per individual case needs. If your orthodontist did not replace them, it must have been done so keeping in mind that in your case it was not an absolute requirement. Its okay to have one set of buccal tubes.

Hello, Yes it’s perfectly ok, to have 1 Buccal tube on each side on all first molars. Sometimes, orthodontist places buccal tubes on second molars as well, that is as per need but having them on first molars is most important in orthodontic treatment. So, if it’s present on every first molar, no need to worry.
