Can bromhexine syrup be taken for mucus

My father is having mucus so want to clear it is he recommended to take bromhexine syrup and I he can take for how many days should he take he is currently under following medication 1. Bisoheart am 5mg 2. Rozat Cv 10mg Thank in advance 🙏
