Under braces from 1 year. I asked ortho just to settle overlap central incisor to settle in my smile utilising a back tooth extraction space without making changes in shape of front teeth. Earlier only overlap teeth touched my lips on smiling now all 6 teeth touch my lips in round shape. ( no extraction done) . I have heard teeth have good memory.
Can teeth shift back to original position naturally if brace wire is removed with ortho permission ???
Plz help.

If you don't want the changes that have happened. Explain the same to your dentist. They can help you. Teeth don't have memory. The gum fibres have. But they can't bring teeth to exactly same place. Also if you want to go back to the old teeth's pretreatment position your orthodontist need to modify your treatment plan. Talk to them about it. They will try to help you. There can be a solution but you need to openly talk to you health provider first.
Having your retainer after completion of orthodontic treatment is of utmost importance. It will retain your correction, if you face treatment relapse, that can be corrected in short period of time and you can have retainer. Don't worry.
