Cataract surgery
My mother aged 52 has been recommended for cataract surgery (both eyes). This is diabetic for more than 20 years. Do some special care required for cataract surgery at diabetic patient? Somewhr I read that Retina vision need to be measured before surgery. Is it correct? Which lens to go: unifocal or multifocal?

Yes she would require a comprehensive eye check up( especially a retina check up to rule out any advanced diabetic retinopathy ) before proceeding for cataract surgery. This will help predict the prognosis of surgery.
