Sir Complete recovery may take from weeks to months...it depends upon underlying cause and proper treatment and care... I understand what you are going through, I think you should know that cellulitis is infection affecting deeper layers of skin but its not contagious... The affected skin region will have redness, pain, warm to touch. sometimes associated with fever and chills.... People with low immunity, diabetic patients, poor circulation in the blood vessels, obesity, certain dermatological conditions can cause cellulitis... Since it is most often due to bacterial infection, antibiotics with good range of coverage against common microbial agents causing cellulitis is prescribed and if there is any abscess formation than surgical drainage is done... Foot elevation is generally helpful...The main goal here is to prevent sepsis in body.

Hi there...I can understand your concern. If the reddness and swelling have been since the start of treatment, then you relax. Since your father is a diabetic, it will take longer time than compared to normal individuals. The pain could be due to damage caused by the cellulitis. It will resolve slowly. Duration of the treatment cannot be said accurately without examining the patient and seeing the progression of the disease. If there is any incense in pain or swelling or reddness then consult your general surgeon immediately.

Hello. It takes some time to heal since he is diabetic, even under control. Any good surgeon can treat this condition quite easily.
