Talking about suicide need not be labelled as psychiatric issue completely. There could be other reasons too. First both of you give for a family counselling and after couple of sessions, if it is really an issue with your spouse's mental health the Counsellor might refer to a Psychiatrist.
You need to work on convincing your spouse, there is no way of treating her without her presence.

I am able to understand your concern. Your husband might be suffering from depression. However more clarity is needed regarding his actual problem. If suicidal he would need immediate psychiatric assistance. If based at bangalore then NIMHANS is the best option. Some therapy sessions and medical help might be needed for him.
If you need further information I would be more than happy to help you with that. You can directly consult with me through Practo. Discussions will be held confidential. Online chat consultation is available.
