Continuation of Thyroid medication
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in January this year and was put on thyroxine sodium (Eltroxin) 25mg. I was asked to increase the dosage to 75mg in February when I went to see the doctor again. I have been taking this medicine so far. (1 tablet per day). The doctor had not mentioned for how long I need to take this medicine. Since it is lockdown, I am unable to visit the doctor. What is the suggestion- do I continue taking this medicine at this dosage (I have taken nearly 60 tablets of 75mg so far), should I increase it, stop talking it until I see the doctor again or keep taking the same dosage. Initial findings(31-1-20) TSH-35.374 mu IU/mL Second test (28-2-20) TSH-48.382 mu IU/mL

When was the second test repeated? Yes, you need to continue the tablets as your values are still high. Repeat the test if it’s more than 6 weeks since you last did the test.

For tsh abnormality only it is not advisable to take eltroxin. It can be cured with general home remedy and precautions. Do 45 minutes exercise daily, use sendha namak (pink salt), and licorice powder 6 gm before breakfast. After 2 months go for Thyroid profile.
