COPD with respiratory failure type 2
My father aged 76 has COPD for last 7 yrs. Only few days back with secondary infection he suffered from respiratory failure type 2. He is on 0.5 O2 maintaing o2 at 94. Today abc report shows pco2 - 40 po2 66. He has thyroid and no other medical problems. What is his life expectancy after this respiratory failure episode? Can you give me a clear picture whether he has 6 months or 1 yr or 5 yrs of his life.

It is very difficult to predict.pl take all precautions. Pl consult Pulmonologist online with all the reports and treatment taken. With treatment, life expectancy increases.
