I have been diagnosed with epilepsy (occipital lobe) for 17 years. I was getting the colorful shining moving aura even prior to it though it resulted in visible convulsions only during puberty. The convulsions now occur only once a year or in two years. But I get the auras frequently or even multiple times daily lasting for 1-2 secs and this doesn't bother me. I try to sleep regularly for 7-hours (1 am to 9am).
Recently I was asked by an orthopaedic doctor to have creatine and L carnitine (fibroset) supplements along with physiotherapy as I have been frequently getting muscle strains and was continuously on muscle relaxants.
However, I wanted to make sure that this won't interfere with my seizure threshold or the effectiveness of the medicine (oxetol 450 twice daily, frisium 5 mg once daily). Along with these, I am also taking Ventab 25 mg twice daily prescribed by a psychiatrist. I have depression and insomnia.
Kindly advise if I should consume Creatine and Carnitine supplements.
